Cost Sharing is created when the total cost of a sponsored project is not fully reimbursed by the sponsor. Part of award management is tracking any type of committed cost sharing.
It is the policy of the University that only mandatory cost sharing is offered to sponsors. Here, the Office of Research explains this policy, describes the circumstances under which an exemption is merited, defines the types of cost sharing (mandatory, voluntary committed, and voluntary uncommitted), and the requirements of each. Be sure to review the Cost Sharing FAQ expandable section for important information.
This form is used to capture manual cost sharing entries for Third Party, Matching Projects, Operating Expenses, Tuition, Equipment, Associated or Unrecovered F&A, or Construction funds.
